About Tyler Duce
Tyler grew up in a family of instructors. Both his father and his grandfather were small town teachers whose devotion to their jobs taught Tyler the value of knowledge, and allowed him to personally experience the struggles faced by many in the education system.
These lessons were reinforced while he was in Chile doing humanitarian work. While helping the underprivileged, Tyler saw first hand the devastating human cost of low literacy. He left Chile determined to be involved in making Alberta’s education system world class.
Upon returning to Alberta, he was surprised to hear of the declining math scores in Alberta, and the politicization of the education system he cherished. Tyler decided to run to be the Edmonton Public School Board Trustee in Ward G because he wants to be a voice to speak out on these issues.
Tyler has an Honour's BA in Political Science from MacEwan University.
