The carbon tax is a hot topic. But regardless of your opinion on the carbon tax, it makes no sense for public school boards to have to pay it. After all, public school boards are funded with tax dollars. Why are they being given tax money to run their projects, and then taxed when they run their projects?
By the end of 2018, Alberta school boards will have lost $30,000,000 to the carbon tax, and that is money that could be reinvested into better providing the fundamentals of education.
As your school board trustee I pledge to fight against the imposition of the carbon tax on public school board activities.
